The Accounting Society is open to all business students interested in accounting and the accounting profession, regardless of class year or major. With the help of career services, the Accounting Society organizes various professional development events throughout the year, including resume workshops, student-run panels, and an accounting mentorship program. Our organization also invites various speakers, including recruiters and local accounting professionals, to discuss the numerous opportunities available in the field after graduation. Informal discussion meetings provide a space for discussing business-related issues and current accounting topics. These meetings also provide us with the opportunity to meet our fellow accounting majors and form a larger community within the business school.

Alpha Kappa Psi (AKPsi) is the largest and oldest co-ed professional business fraternity in the nation. The Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå’s Delta Zeta Chapter thrives on the active participation of each member through various committees and officer positions.

The fraternity provides unique opportunities for students, allowing them to become better prepared for their future careers. Students attend workshops where they can meet leaders from a wide range of professions to gain insight on desired career paths, strengthen their resumes, build a great networking group, and perfect interviewing skills. The AKPsi fraternity addresses a strong sense of brotherhood, through visiting nearby universities, where students are able to network with other members and alumni. Through these resources, students are able to acquire skills, such as project management, team building, and public speaking. Alpha Kappa Psi prepares students to become leaders and helps them to succeed in the professional world.

Founded in 1904 at New York University, the fraternity has expanded to over 300 chapters nationwide consisting of over 200,000 members. Its alumni base includes notable figures, such as Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, the Founder of Marriott, 25 US Senators, the President of Bank of America, and many more.

The Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå’s Delta Zeta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi was originally founded in 1955 and left campus in 2004. It was re-chartered in 2010 and is currently run by a dedicated Executive Board comprised of student members.

The Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå’s student chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) is an active member of the national American Marketing Association. The AMA chapter hosts many events and activities throughout the academic year to educate students about marketing and other creative business industries. Students learn industry news and cutting-edge techniques.

Students in AMA get to:

• Network with marketing professionals
• Travel to area marketing firms
• Complete strategic projects for clients
• Apply for scholarships through the AMA Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå Chapter

Members will also receive guidance regarding recommended classes, potential career paths, and application documents.

The UR AMA chapter offers tiered membership dues, and the Robins School strongly recommends those who concentrate in marketing or hope to work in creative business industries become active members.

Beta Gamma Sigma is the international honor society serving business programs accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student can receive anywhere in the world in a business program accredited by AACSB International. The purpose of Beta Gamma Sigma is to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business and to foster personal and professional excellence among its members. A significant emphasis of the society is to foster ethical business leadership. Beta Gamma Sigma members reside in over 160 countries and 525 chapters. 

The International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi or DSP, is one of the largest professional fraternities in addition to being one of the largest co-ed professional business fraternities in the world. Tailored to and focused solely around business majors, DSP offers a special environment for tremendous personal and professional growth. Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå’s Rho Omega Chapter, recently established, is growing at a rapid rate and is comprised of dedicated members looking to leave a lasting impact.

A professional fraternity such as Delta Sigma Pi offers an ideal balance of professionalism and social interaction. The fraternity sponsors various activities ranging from speakers, tours, seminars, community service events, fundraising, and social activities. Through these unique opportunities along with our vast networks of brotherhood in nearby universities, DSP is able to give its members the edge required to establish a successful career and valuable professional network that will extend far beyond the years in college. Additionally, we attend at least two conferences every year in various cities in the US to meet fellow brothers from across the nation. We pride ourselves on our strong network, our community outreach, and our lifetime brotherhood.

Delta Sigma Pi was founded in 1907 at New York University and is currently headquartered in Oxford, Ohio. The Fraternity has over 250 actives chapters with over 235,000 initiated members worldwide. Few notable alumni that are members of Delta Sigma Pi include the CEO of Procter and Gamble Company, the president of General Motors Corporation, the CFO of Merrill Lynch, the Chairman Emeritus of PWC, the CEO of Intel, and many more. Dean Nancy Bagranoff of the Robins School of Business is a fellow brother of Delta Sigma Pi.

The Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå’s Rho Omega Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi was established on April 20, 2013. Acquiring a chapter status within a single semester, we were applauded by the Grand President of Delta Sigma Pi for accomplishing a task that usually takes 2-3 years in less than 6 months. Our organization is led by an executive board, which is comprised of Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå students.

The Finance Society will expose you to different finance career paths, and it’s never too early to start preparing for the recruiting process.

We have developed a curriculum that will assist you to get competitive internships in investment banking, sales & trading, asset management, and corporate finance. After this semester, your resume will have the bullet points you need to stand out to a finance recruiter.

Guided by co-presidents who have successfully gone through the finance recruiting process and Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå’s finance curriculum, here is a sample of topics that will be covered this semester:

• Precise points of contact to network at major banks
• Interview preparation and resources
• Lessons on Bloomberg, Valuation Methods, Investing
• Mock Investment Portfolio competition
• Weekly updates on school events and internship opportunities
• Guest speaker series from professionals working in finance

The Lakeside Consulting Group is a student-run organization that provides undergraduate students with consulting experience, mentorship, professional development, and connections to prepare them for a career in consulting. This club aims to provide members with opportunities to participate in engagements, workshops, and training sessions that promote career readiness. The organization also aims to place its members in top consulting firms. 

Membership in ODE requires an overall GPA of 3.0 and an economics GPA of 3.3. A student must have senior standing and at least 15 credit hours of economics course work. Invitations to join and information about the initiation banquet are sent to qualifying students each spring semester.

The Society was founded at the University of Wisconsin and Harvard University in 1915 and has remained an active organization at the national level. ODE’s activities include the publication of its official journal, The American Economist, and the regular sponsoring of panel discussions at national and regional professional meetings. The Society also sponsors the Irving Fisher and Frank W. Taussig competitions, grants awarded annually for economic scholarship by graduate and/or undergraduate students.

Among the stated objectives of ODE are "recognition of scholastic achievement in economics...and the establishment of closer academic and social ties between students and faculty." These are the principal functions we envision for the ODE chapter at the Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå, although students interested in participating in the Society’s national activities are strongly encouraged and would be assisted by the faculty sponsor in doing so.

Analytics in sports has grown significantly over the years, with the construction of sports teams primarily driven by data rather than the instinct of a few executives (e.g., see the movie "Moneyball"). In this organization, the students work and socialize to learn about common analytics techniques, technologies, and methods. Then, they apply those learnings to various sports contexts (e.g., baseball, basketball, soccer, and others). The skills learned in these sports contexts are transferable to any business context. This club provides a great opportunity to combine your interests in sports and analytics.

The Robins Diversity Coalition (RDC) was founded in order to further support and connect students of underrepresented identities and allies who are interested in declaring or have already declared in the Robins School of Business. The aim of the Coalition is to develop a community for these students who can help each other, share knowledge, and ultimately create an environment conducive to succeeding in the business school.

The RDC frequently engages with community partners, business representatives, and alumni of the RSB who come and speak to the Coalition. These opportunities provide members with information in a variety of business industries and the ability to expand their network. In addition to these events, there are occasions to socialize with members through study sessions and other activities.

Scholars of Finance is a value-driven organization. Our goal is to inspire character and integrity in the finance leaders of tomorrow. We offer leadership development programs, a speaker series, and a one-on-one mentorship program, all designed to foster ethics and integrity within each individual. 

The Robins School of Business Student Government (RSB SGA) is charged with initiating, undertaking, and organizing various projects pertaining to the Robins School of Business. Initiatives arise from within the organization as well as from non-members who address the body with specific ideas.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist with registration at RSB events and with guest speakers
• Serve on the Dean’s Student Advisory Council
• Assist with the annual senior class dinner
• Work closely with the Career Services team to more efficiently realize students’ internship and job goals.

The RSB SGA is open to any sophomore (spring), junior, or senior who has a declared major or minor in the Robins School. All students are elected to their positions. The organization is comprised of an Executive Council, and elections are held in April. Positions include:

• President
• VP of Administration
• VP of Programming
• VP of Student Affairs
• Senators

The Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) provides valuable, real-time experiential learning in securities analysis and portfolio management. Managers gain real-world experience in topics and theories that are discussed in the classroom. SMIF is the capstone to investment studies in a sequence of courses developed by the finance department.

The premise of Spider Real Estate Group is to provide students interested in a career in real estate with the resources they need to succeed. We work to educate students on the different paths within real estate, as well as help them build their network with alumni in the industry. Members also benefit from peer feedback regarding resumes and key recruitment strategies for internships and jobs.

Issues with gender disparities in the workplace are not just a women’s issue, but a people’s issue.

One of the newest clubs in the Robins School of Business, Women in Business (WIB), is a co-ed network to support women in business. Ultimately, WIB aims to highlight women in the Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå community, offer networking and mentorship programs for underclass business students, and address workplace challenges.

Women in Economics (WE) is committed to fostering a community of women with a common interest in the field of economics, regardless of major. Started in the spring of 2022, WE aims to:

• Foster a supportive community for women with an interest in economics, welcoming students from all majors.
• Help students develop a strong network of peers, faculty, and alumni.
• Educate students on diverse career paths available to economics graduates.
• Offer academic mentorship and guidance to support student success.
